Corporate Gifts in Saudi Arabia: Occasions, Ideas and Etiquette
The key gifting dates in the Kingdom, the gifts that suit Saudi business culture, and the etiquette to follow when sending them.
Published:

Saudi Arabia is the largest corporate gifting market in the GCC, and gifting plays a real part in building business relationships in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Al Khobar. The right gift respects local culture, arrives on time for the key national and religious dates, and reflects the quality of your company.
The key gifting dates in Saudi Arabia
- Saudi Founding Day, 22 February. It marks the founding of the first Saudi state in 1727. Companies celebrate with heritage-themed gifts and decorations. See Saudi Founding Day gifts.
- Ramadan and Eid. The biggest season for client and employee gifts, with dates moving about 11 days earlier each year. See Ramadan corporate gifts and our Ramadan gifting guide.
- Saudi National Day, 23 September. It marks the unification of the Kingdom in 1932. Offices, teams and events turn green. See Saudi National Day gifts.
- Year end and company milestones. Client appreciation gifts, long service awards and new-joiner kits run all year.
Plan each of these 6 to 8 weeks ahead, because demand is high across the Kingdom in the weeks before.
Gift ideas that suit Saudi business culture
- Arabic coffee and hospitality. A dallah, cups and dates luxury box or an Arabic coffee flask and cups set reflects the central place of gahwa in Saudi hospitality. See dallah and Arabic coffee sets.
- Dates. Premium dates in an engraved wooden box are always appropriate. See dates and chocolate boxes.
- Heritage pieces. Sadu patterns, Arabic calligraphy and Najdi-inspired designs suit Founding Day especially. See Arabian heritage gifts.
- Executive sets. A Sadu notebook, bottle and power bank set combines heritage design with everyday use. See executive gift sets.
- Team apparel and medals. Green polos and caps for National Day, and medals for sports days and staff events.
Etiquette for corporate gifts in the Kingdom
- Arabic first. Use Arabic on cards and packaging, with English as a second language if needed. Have Arabic text reviewed carefully.
- The Saudi flag. The flag carries the Shahada, the Islamic declaration of faith. Avoid printing it on items that may be thrown away, worn, sat on or washed, such as t-shirts, bags or paper cups. Use the national green, your own logo and the official National Day or Founding Day identity instead, following their published guidelines.
- Appropriate gifts. No alcohol, pork products or pig leather. Choose halal food and avoid images of people or animals on religious occasions.
- Personal gifts. Be careful with personal items such as fragrance or clothing between men and women in business, unless you know the recipient well.
- Value limits. Government and many large companies have rules on the value of gifts their staff can accept. Check before sending.
- Presentation. Quality packaging and a personal card matter as much as the gift.
Branding for Saudi gifts
Laser engraving suits brass, wood and steel heritage gifts. Embroidery gives a premium finish on polos and caps in the national green. Debossing and embossing with gold foil suits leather and premium boxes. See our branding methods guide for more.
