How it works
How UV printing works
UV printing is a digital process that jets fine droplets of special ink onto the product and cures them instantly under ultraviolet LED light. Because the ink hardens in seconds, it sits on the surface rather than soaking in, which gives sharp detail, full CMYK colour and smooth gradients. A layer of white ink can be printed underneath so colours stay bright on dark or transparent items, and some printers add a clear gloss layer for a slightly raised effect. No screens or plates are needed.
Products that suit UV printing
Flatbed UV printers work best on rigid, flat or gently curved surfaces. Typical items include power banks, wireless chargers, acrylic desk items, wooden and bamboo products, notebook covers and metal cards. A rotary attachment allows printing on some cylindrical drinkware. For new employee welcome gifts in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Riyadh, UV printing lets you use full brand colours and even add individual names.
Artwork, durability and choosing a method
- Artwork: vector logos (AI, EPS, PDF or SVG) give the sharpest edges; photos should be at least 300 dpi at print size.
- Colours: printed in CMYK, so Pantone shades are matched as closely as possible and shown in your mock-up.
- White base: on black or clear items, we plan a white layer under the colours as part of setup.
- Durability: UV ink is scratch-resistant in everyday use, but it is a surface layer, so heavy abrasion or frequent dishwashing can wear it over time.
For a permanent single-tone mark on metal, laser engraving lasts longer, and for textured or recessed areas, a domed resin sticker can be a neat alternative. You receive a free digital mock-up before production, and MOQ and lead time are on each product and confirmed in your quote. Ask for a UV printing quote to get started.

Frequently asked questions
Can UV printing reproduce gradients and photos?
Yes. UV printing is digital and prints in CMYK, so gradients, photos and multi-colour logos print in one pass without separate screens. For the best result, supply vector artwork for logos and images at 300 dpi or higher at the final print size. Metallic and fluorescent brand colours can only be approximated, and the mock-up shows how they will look.
Does UV printing work on dark or black products?
It does. The printer lays down a white ink base under the colours so they stay bright on black power banks, dark notebook covers or clear acrylic. Without that white layer, colours would look dull on dark surfaces. We plan the white base as part of the artwork setup, so you only need to send your normal logo file.
Is UV printing suitable for bottles and mugs?
Some cylindrical items can be UV printed with a rotary attachment, which works well for gifts used lightly or kept on display. Drinkware that will be washed often, especially in a dishwasher, usually keeps its branding longer with laser engraving or screen printing. Tell us how the bottles will be used and we will recommend the method that fits each product.
Can each item be personalised with a different name?
Because UV printing needs no screens, the artwork can change from one item to the next, so names, job titles or event dates can be added to power banks, desk items or notebooks. Send the name list in a spreadsheet with the Arabic and English spellings checked. Minimums still depend on the item and are confirmed in your quote.
