Why choose a woven lanyard for staff ID
A custom woven lanyard is made on a jacquard loom, so the logo or company name is part of the fabric rather than printed on its surface. The text stands slightly raised, has a textile look and cannot fade, crack or wash off, even after a year of daily wear in the Gulf heat.
That durability makes woven lanyards the usual choice for permanent staff ID in hospitals, banks, hotels, schools and government offices, and for HR teams issuing access cards during employee onboarding in Abu Dhabi, Riyadh and Manama. They also suit long-running events where the same pass is worn over several days.
How weaving compares with printing
Weaving reproduces logos with threads, which works best for bold text and simple marks. Very fine detail, gradients and photographs suit printed lanyards better. Compared with embroidery on clothing, the effect is similar: a premium, tactile finish with a limited number of thread colours.

Ordering and supply
Because the strap is woven to order, lead times are a little longer than for printed lanyards, and minimums depend on the design. Frequently asked questions
How small can the text be on a woven lanyard?
On a 20 mm strap, letters around 4 mm high or more weave cleanly. Thin serif fonts and tiny taglines may lose detail, so we usually simplify the artwork slightly and show the result in the digital mock-up before the loom is set up.
Can Arabic text be woven?
Yes. Arabic weaves well when the letters are bold enough, ideally a clear sans-serif or the brand’s own logotype. Many organisations alternate the English and Arabic name along the strap so it reads correctly from either side.
Is a woven lanyard more expensive than a printed one?
It is usually slightly more per piece and takes a few extra days, because the strap is woven specifically for you. For staff ID worn daily for a year or more, the longer life normally makes it the better value.
