Why a plantable pen gets talked about at events
A plantable paper pen looks like an ordinary paper pen, but the end holds a small capsule of seeds. When the ink runs out, the recipient plants the capsule end in a pot and keeps it watered, which makes it a giveaway people mention to colleagues and children. The barrel is rolled from recycled newspaper or card, and it writes with a standard blue ballpoint refill. Branding the pen
A one-colour screen print on the barrel covers about 45 x 8 mm, enough for a logo and website. For a full-colour logo with planting instructions, a printed paper sleeve or card of about 60 x 25 mm, made with full-colour digital print, wraps the pen and carries more information. Dark inks read best on newsprint. A free digital mock-up shows the print first.
Packaging and ordering
Pens are packed individually in kraft sleeves or bulk boxes for events. Keep them dry until handed out. Some GCC countries regulate seed imports, so we choose suitable seeds for the delivery country. Frequently asked questions
How do recipients plant the pen?
When the ink is finished, they push the capsule end into a small pot of soil, water it and keep it in indirect light. Planting steps are printed on the sleeve or card, in Arabic and English if you wish.
How is this different from a seed pencil?
A seed pencil is a wooden pencil with the seed capsule in place of an eraser. This is a ballpoint pen with a rolled paper barrel, so it suits audiences who prefer writing in ink, such as conference delegates.
Why is the minimum order high?
Plantable pens are made in batches and are priced as a bulk giveaway, so the unit price is best at larger quantities. Smaller quantities may be possible from stock, which we confirm in your quote.
