A ceremonial honour medal is the most formal medal format, close in style to state and military decorations. A 55 mm medal is die struck with your crest or emblem in raised relief, plated in gold or silver and hung from a short pleated ribbon drape with a brooch bar, so it is pinned to the chest rather than worn round the neck. Each one is presented in a hinged velvet case.
Who uses ceremonial honour medals
Government departments, police and civil defence units, hospitals, universities and large family groups across the UAE, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain use honour medals for distinguished service, long-service tiers, excellence awards and national-day honours. They suit ceremonies where recipients are called to the stage and decorated in front of colleagues. Ribbon colours can follow the organisation's identity or national colours. Design and personalisation
The medal is made from your emblem in a custom die.
- [Raised relief striking](/branding/debossing-embossing) gives crisp detail on crests, Arabic calligraphy and decorative borders.
- Laser-engraved reverse with recipient name, honour and year in Arabic or English.
- Optional enamel colour fill and a matching miniature ribbon bar.
We send a design proof of the face, reverse and ribbon for approval before the die is made.
Presentation and planning
The velvet case has a satin lid lining that can carry a foil-printed emblem, and a certificate can be supplied alongside. Frequently asked questions
Is the medal worn on the chest or neck?
This format hangs from a short ribbon drape with a brooch bar and is pinned to the chest, like formal decorations. A neck ribbon version can be quoted if you prefer that style.
Can we create several honour levels?
Yes. One die can be produced in gold, silver and antique finishes with different ribbon colours, which creates clear tiers such as 10, 20 and 30 years or distinguished and excellence honours.
Can each recipient's name be engraved?
Yes. The reverse is engraved individually with name, honour and year from your list. Every name is checked on the proof in Arabic and English before engraving. Cases are labelled for the ceremony order.
